Seniors Go for the Gold

A record number of participants took part in the annual Shelby Township Senior Olympics.

Shelby River Bends Park Wednesday hosted a record number of participants for the annual Senior Olympics.

The event, hosted by the Shelby Township Senior Center, brought together 135 participants to compete in events including football toss, fun walk an putt-putt golf.

"It is great for our seniors to get outside, get active and enjoy our wonderful Shelby Township parks," said Amy Drake, senior center coordinator.

After a morning of friendly competition, the seniors were served a lunch catered by Outback Steakhouse in Schoenherr.
