Apple Plans to 'Talk iPhone' October 4

Rumors will come to a rest next Tuesday as Apple unveils it's new (or upgraded?) best-selling, Post-PC device; the iPhone.

As indicated by Apple's official fall event invitation sent out to developers and third-party representatives, the company plans to discuss what the near future holds for its "best-selling, blockbuster post-pc device", the iPhone, on October 4.

The iOS 5 Golden Master (final developer version of software before going public) or Public Release, iCloud, and the new iPod line for the holiday season may also be featured at the news event, but taking center stage, the new iPhone 5 or iPhone 4S (or even both!) will finally put rumors to rest and will hopefully release in the following weeks to the public, as indicated by several apple-sourced websites.

The name given for these events held by Apple have been known to give some background to what may be another big unveiling. "Let's Talk iPhone" may simply be a title that may have you think that the event is strictly regarding the new iPhone model, but by analyzing this title a little more, Apple's field-tested voice-recognition program, thought to be called 'Assistant' by 9to5mac.com, may be hinting at this new feature for the iPhone, which is supposedly much like a speech-to-text API. Buttons for operating the rumored-new feature have been spotted in the iOS 5 beta for developers.

The image on the invitation is also something to consider in predicting what may be presented at the event. According to a report from 9to5mac.com in response to the notification badge showing a number "1" on the phone app in the invitation image, (which usually tells the user that they have a missed call) it is thought to be that only one iPhone will be announced; either an iPhone 4S (updated iPhone 4) or a totally-revamped iPhone 5. This may not be entirely true, however, some inventory SKU number-images on the Internet indicate a low-end iPhone (4S) - the alleged SKU already similar to the current iPhone 4 SKU - and a totally new iPhone (5), according to 9to5mac.com.

Next Tuesday, promptly at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET, we will know what is being released/updated relating to Apple's iPhone, it's operating system - iOS 5 - and quite possibly some new updates for it's well-known iPod lineup.

An additional significant aspect on the event: Tim Cook will be leading the event, with this being the first for him being as newly-appointed CEO of the world's most valuable company, in regards to the NYSE.

Check for my upcoming blog Tuesday or Wednesday next week featuring all the news and updates from the event.
