Shelby Twp 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Run: 2012

Shelby Twp 3rd Annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk a huge success! Over $6,500 is being donated to 6 major charities/groups in need!

This year's 3rd annual Jingle Bell Run/Walk held on Dec 16th was a tremendous success. We will be donating over $6,500 to 6 major charities:  Macomb Special Olympics, Penrickton Center, Cat Tail Acres, Shelby Vets Memorial, Shelby Lions Club.  We also donated $1,000 to the senior citizens from Shelby Twp who lost everything in an apartment fire in November.  We too wanted to help!

I would like to thank Joe Youngblood and his crew at Shelby Parks and Rec for the outstanding support they gave us for the race(including Bob and Stu).  Special thanks to Roy Rose and AEW for being our headline sponsor.  His staff also did a great job working with me on the new course layout, and for the donations of supplies for marking the course.   Thanks also go out to Erle and Scott at Cherry Creek Golf Course for their support and for allowing us to run on the course.  THanks go out to the Shelby Twp Fire and Police Departments for their presence.

I would also like to thank the major sponsors we had this year for our race/walk:  AEW, Amway(Joe Bauer), UAW Local 400, Fazal Khan, Anytime FItness, Creative Solutions Group, BIggby Coffee(store's on Hall Road), Hansons Running Stores, American Speedy Printing, Stoney Creek Running Club, Jazzercise (Yvonne Lewis), Rick Stathikus, Doug Wozniak, and David Danyko.  It's because of the major sponsors that we were able to donate more money to more charities this year.

We also want to thank the many volunteers, including Jean Lambert and her crew from Special Olympics, our Stoney Creek Running Club, Joe Burns, and the Eisenhower Girls Basketball Team for their great support of all the walkers and runners on the course. They did a fantastic job for the 2nd year!  And to everyone who participated I say thank you to you for supporting this great event.
