Fearless Local Mom: 'Joins the Party'

Local mom Alisa Reseigh blogs about finding the solution to de-stress and have some fun with her girlfriends.

As a full-time working wife and mother of two, finding a little "Me time" is close to impossible.

If I am not stuck at my desk buried under papers, then I'm stuck behind the steering wheel playing "Taxi Mom" driving to baseball, religion or dropping someone off at a friend's house to play. A night out with my girlfriends is very far and few between.

I've always wanted to join a book club, but it seems the only books I pick up lately are third-grade curriculum and Dr. Seuss with my little ones. After much thought on how to squeeze in a little me time, I finally figured it out!

A workout class would be the perfect solution and just what I need to get in shape and clear my mind. The next problem, do I have the time to commit to a workout class every single week? Recently I started hearing the rave about Zumba and how fun it is as well as being agreat workout. After a few weeks of research, I found several Zumba classes offered in the Shelby and Utica area.

However, the best of all was when I found a "drop in" option class in downtown Utica. It is at on Auburn Road.

The instructor's name is Jodi Kloock, JodiZumba@yahoo.com. She is very upbeat and keeps the class moving and having fun the entire time. It is the best hour of my week! The Zumba classes are each an hour long but seems like five minutes because of how much fun we always have. The classes are offered Mondays  at 6 p.m., Thursdays at 7 p.m. and Saturdays at 11:15 a.m.  You can pay per visit or buy a package deal and use your visits as you wish, and best of all—they don't expire!

With summer around the corner, it's time to start making time for yourself and I'm so happy to be able to share my recent finding with you. None of us are professionals in any way, but we are all there having a good time and smiling while working out. I hope that I have inspired some of you to join in on the Zumba party and will see you soon.

I look forward to sharing more findings whenever possible with all of my new Patch friends as well. Please feel free to contact me at ReseighFamily@yahoo.com if you have any questions or suggestions to share.
