16 Mile Road Open Following Traffic Accident

The driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries following an early morning two-car accident.

STERLING HEIGHTS — Metro Parkway is back open after a vehicle accident closed the westbound lanes for several hours early Monday morning.

According to Click on Detroit, the accident happened around midnight on westbound 16 Mile Road near Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights.

The news station reports that a Chevy Silverado rolled over when it collided with an SUV. The driver of the Silverado was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, police said. No serious injuries were reported for the driver of the SUV.

No other passengers were in the vehicles. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
