23 Mile Bridge Project Reaches Finish Line

Following months of construction, the 23 Mile bridge replacement project is complete in Macomb Township.

The previously closed section of the mile road from Card to North Avenue is scheduled to open Friday afternoon, according to The Macomb Daily

A ribbon-cutting ceremony with Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel, Macomb County Director of Roads Robert Hoepfner and Macomb Township officials is scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at the BP gas station on 23 Mile and North Avenue, according to the county.

The event marks the end of the $3.8-million project that prompted motorists to take detours due to 23 Mile's closure over the Clinton River's north branch. The road work was paid for with funding through the State of Michigan Local Bridge Program and was contracted out to Dan’s Excavating in Shelby Township.
