Take a look at two of the more unusual cases Utica Police worked on this week.

Brassiere Bandit Enters Apartment Through Ceiling, Keeps 48 of 60

A 20 year-old female Utica resident called police March 2 to report a break-in and robbery at her residence on the 45000 block of Keding Street. She stated that when she arrived at her apartment, her front door was unlocked and there was a hole in the drywall over the ceiling. Upon inspection, it appeared that someone had opened a scuttle hatch leading from the laundry room to the victim's apartment.

Among the items reported missing from the apartment were jewelry, TV, Disney CDs, BP monitor, glucometer, Guitar Hero Guitar and around 60 bras. There was an apartment between the laundry room and the victim's room that was uncompromised and it was learned that the thief was a prior occupant.

A 25-year-old Flint man accidentally flashed a bag of marijuana to a Dave & Buster's waitress while paying his bill on Feb. 28. The employee promptly alerted security, who coincidentally was an off-duty Utica Police Officer, and identified the man while he was taking a cigarette break outside.

As the subject walked back into the building, the Utica Police approached the subject and asked him if he had anything illegal on his person. After initially stating that he didn't, the man admitted to having the marijuana in his pocket. He was taken in custody for narcotic paraphernalia.
