Crime Briefs: Freon Stolen from Air Conditioning Unit; Gas Siphoned from Truck

Freon, which is sold at more than $45 a pound, was stolen from a residential heating and cooling unit.

Freon Stolen From Air Conditioning Unit

Freon was stolen from a residential air conditioning unit on Runnymeand Street last Friday.

The homeonwers said when the unit stopped working, they went outside to find the unit damaged.

Main Heating and Cooling told the homeowners the unit was missing more than 12 pounds of freon, which is sold for $45 a pound.

The case was closed because of a lack of suspects.

Gas Siphoned from Truck

A Shelby Township resident told police gas was siphoned from his parked vehicle, which was left on Dunstable Drive, overnight Sunday.

The victim said he noticed the theft the next morning when he attempted to start the 1994 Ford truck and it wouldn’t turn on.

The Ford contained dual gasoline tanks and had been recently filled.

Patio Door Shattered

The Shelby Township police reported that the sliding glass patio window from a home on Shiloh Drive was shattered Sunday.

The interior pane was intact and the house was secure, according to police reports.

No evidence was found at the scene and there are no suspects in the case.

GPS Stolen From Vehicle

A GPS and several audio cables were stolen from a vehicle parked on Lambeth Court last Saturday.

The owner of the 2008 Honda told police that several neighbors have reported suspicious activity in the area in the past few weeks.
