Hit and Run Driver Arrested

A man accused of hitting a vehicle on Hall Road while driving drunk was arrested.

A 50-year-old Armada man was arrested on Nov. 25 after the Utica police said he hit a vehicle on Hall Road while driving drunk and on a suspended license.

Police said the man drove his Ford Ranger into a vehicle on Hall Road and continued to Best Buy in Utica.

When he exited the vehicle, several witnesses, including the victim, confronted the man in the parking lot. According to the police report, he denied the crash and continued on into the store to shop.

Police were called, but by the time they arrived, the man had already exited the store and drove away, according to a police report. 

The man was tracked down at a home in Washington Township after police ran his license plate and reviewed a photo of him on the Best Buy Surveillance video.

When police arrived at the man's home, he admitted to striking the vehicle and tested positive for alochol in his system. He was also driving on a suspended license.

He was arrested and taken to the Utica police station.

The Utica police are seeking charges of failing to stop at an accident and driving on a suspended license.
