Kids' Camp Demonstrates Canine Police Tricks
Kids who attended the Wag N' Tails Kids' Camp this week learned a thing or two about how officers train their police canines.
Kids at the Wag N' Tails Dog Activity Center on Mound Road spent some time with a real police officer and his canine companion. Officer Cliff Narlock of the Warren Police Department and his police dog Ogar demonstrated several tricks and techniques for training any dog.
At the camp, kids started the day with crafts, followed by a visit from Narlock, and they finished the day by trying some of their new skills on their own dogs.
Narlock stressed the importance of positive reinforcement when training any dog. Director of communications and Kids' Camp teacher Laura Byrd provided additional lessons and techniques.
