Lock Your Car Doors: Purses, DVDs and Laptops Stolen from Vehicles in Shelby

The following arrest information was supplied by the Shelby Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

Computer Stolen from Minivan

A laptop computer was stolen from a minivan parked in front of Nouveau Hair Salon on Van Dyke Avenue, just north of 22 Mile Road.

The victim told police the theft occured between 4 p.m. and 6:15 p.m. on Dec. 8, while she was inside of the salon.

There were no signs of forced entry or evidence to establish any suspects, said police in a report.

Portable DVD Player Stolen from Vehicle

A Shelby Township resident told police a portable DVD player was stolen from his vehicle, also on Dec. 8, in the area of 22 and Van Dyke roads.

The victim said he noticed the DVD player, valued at $200, was missing when he went to take his children to school.

There were also no signs of forced entry or witnesses to the theft, according to police.

Purse Taken from Vehicle

A purse was taken from the back of a minivan parked in front of Evola Music Store off Van Dyke Avenue on Dec. 11.

The victim told police that while she was in the store, a patron came in and told employees they found a woman's purse discarded in the parking lot.

Nothing was missing frmo the bag, which had been taken from the back of the woman's minivan.

No suspects were established and the case has been closed, police said in a report.
