Police Blotter: Landscape Equipment Stolen; iPod Stolen from Home

Landscape Equipment Stolen from Truck

Two leaf blowers and a weed whacker allegedly were stolen last Friday from a box truck parked in front of a home on 24 Mile and Hayes Road. 

The owner of the vehicle said he had just finished landscaping a yard and packed his equipment in the back of a box truck.

When the man came back 10 minutes later, he told police two red max blowers were gone and a Shindawi weed whacker.

The total value of the items stolen is more than $1,000 police said.

Police interviewed neighbors, who said they did not see anything.

Money Stolen From Purse at Costco

Last Thursday, a woman told police she forgot her purse inside of the Costco shopping cart after she loaded her groceries into her vehicle.

When she realized she didn’t have her purse–about 10 minutes later–the woman said she went back to Costco and reported her missing purse.

The purse was returned, but $250 had been taken from the wallet.

There are currently no suspects.

Electronics Stolen From Home

Police said they suspect a person invited to a party at a home on 24 Mile Road and Schoenherr roads stole an iPad and iPod.

The homeowner told police that her son had several friends at the home last Thursday. There were no signs of forced entry or no leads or suspects.

GPS Stolen From Vehicle

A Garmin GPS was stolen from a vehicle on Florence Drive in Shelby Township last Sunday.

The GPS was stolen overnight. There was no other damage to the vehicle detected.

Catalytic Converter Stolen From Truck

A catalytic converter was stolen from a truck last weekend.

Police said they believe the thief tried to steal the converter last week but was unable to finish the job, and then returned over the weekend to steal converter.

The owner of the vehicle told police the truck sounded louder than usual last week, but then over the weekend it was even louder. When the owner looked under the vehicle, he noticed there was a hole in the exhaust system.
