Police Blotter: Lawn Mower Stolen From Driveway

Lawn Mower Stolen from Driveway

A lawn mower was stolen from a driveway on the 5300 block of Woodbridge Street in Shelby Township on June 2.

The homeowner said the theft happened sometime around 9:30 a.m. The homeowner told police he had just pulled out his lawn mower from the garage and gassed it up. He went inside for half an hour to have a cup of coffee before mowing the lawn, but when he returned, the red Honda mower was gone.

Two teenage boys whom neighbors said were running through their yards around the time of the theft were questioned, but police said the case was closed due to a lack of evidence.

Golf Ball Smashes Through Home’s Front Window at 2 a.m.

The owner of a home on the 2500 block of Hawthorne Street called police around 2 a.m. on June 4 to report that the front window of his home was smashed while he was sleeping.

The homeowner told police he and his family were awakened by a loud crashing noise. When he ran outside, he found the double-paned, 14 x 14-inch glass window in the front of his home was shattered. A small, white golf ball was on the floor.

The homeowner did not see any witnesses.

The estimated cost to fix the window is $300. The case was closed because there were no witnesses or suspects.

SUV Parked in Driveway Vandalized

A vehicle parked on the 14000 block of Knightsbridge in Shelby Township was vandalized some time after midnight on June 5.

Police said there were deep scratches on the hood, the driver’s door, the driver’s mirror, the rear passenger doors and on the hatch of the 2006 GMC Denali.

The owner of the vehicle told police she had just gotten the Denali back from a body shop a week earlier.

The case was closed due to lack of witnesses.
