Police Blotter: Purses, Parts Stolen from Cars in Hall Road Parking Lots

The following information was supplied by the Shelby Township Police Department.

Tools Stolen from Goike Farmer's Market

Some $1,150 worth of tools were reported stolen from Fred Goike's roadside market on 26 Mile Road on June 17. Goike reported that sometime between 1 and 6 p.m. June 17, unknown individuals broke into his market through the barn door.

Upon later inspection, Goike found the stolen items to include a Lincoln Welder Electric Mig 180, auto darkening welding helmet, eight-piece jumbo socket set, three jumbo adjustable wrenches, a torque wrench and jumbo breaker bar.

The main advertising sign in front of the market was also vandalized with yellow florescent paint.

There are no suspects or witnesses in this case.

Larceny in Don Pablos, Ocean Breeze Parking Lots

On June 27, two thefts from cars were reported in the Don Pablos parking lot on Hall Road. The first theft occurred between 1 and 1:45 p.m., when a Garmin GPS was taken from a vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle's owner believes the doors were locked; however, police did not notice any signs of forced entry. At around 4:50 p.m., police were dispatched once again to the Don Pablos lot where another individual reported two purses containing cash, a driver's license and four credit cards stolen from a vehicle. There are no suspects in either case.

On June 25, police were dispatched to the Ocean Breeze Restaurant on Van Dyke, where the window of a 2002 Toyota had been smashed in and a purse taken from the vehicle. Inside the purse was a driver's license, credit cards, social security card and personal makeup and hygiene products. There are no suspects at this time.

Parts Stripped from Car in Costco Parking Lot

Police were dispatched to Costco on June 27 for the report of the theft of a catalytic converter from a vehicle in the parking lot. The vehicle's owner believes the theft occurred sometime between 7:15 and 8 p.m. Upon returning to his vehicle, the owner observed fresh cut marks on the exhaust pipes where the converter appeared to have been removed. There are no suspects in this case.

Car Tire Keyed in Owner's Driveway

On June 26, police responded to a report of vandalism at the 47000 block of Milonas. Sometime between the hours of 2 and 8 a.m., it is believed that an unknown person keyed (punctured) the right rear tire of a car while it was parked in the owner's driveway. There are no suspects in this case.

Tools Stolen from Home's Garage

Police received a report that sometime between 8 p.m. on June 22 and noon on June 23, a Black and Decker jigsaw and 12-volt cordless drill had been stolen from the garage of a home at 21 Mile and Van Dyke.

The homeowner told police that whoever broke in, likely did so through the garage side door. There are no suspects in this case.

Bike Reported Stolen from Outside Fillipa's Restaurant

On June 25, police received the report that a silver chrome mountain bike had been stolen from outside Fillipa's Restaurant.
