Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Apartment Complex

A person was robbed at Fox Lane Apartments on Tuesday night, according to Shelby Township police.

are investigating an armed robbery at near West Utica and Mound roads on Tuesday night at 8:15 p.m.

Police said a gunman approached a group of people walking in between the buildings, pointed the gun at them, and ordered them to the ground.

It's unclear exactly what was stolen, but Detective Stan Muszynski said property was taken from the victims.

No one was hurt in the incident.

A witness described the armed man as a white male in his 20s. He was about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with long brown hair, a medium build, and he was wearing blue jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt and tennis shoes

“I think there is more to this story because this is not something that normally happens in Shelby Township,” Muszynski said. “This is an unusual event.”
