Police Investigate Armed Robbery at Apartment Complex

A person was robbed at Fox Lane Apartments on Tuesday night, according to Shelby Township police.

are investigating an armed robbery at near West Utica and Mound roads on Tuesday night at 8:15 p.m.

Police said a gunman approached a group of people walking in between the buildings, pointed the gun at them, and ordered them to the ground.

It's unclear exactly what was stolen, but Detective Stan Muszynski said property was taken from the victims.

No one was hurt in the incident.

A witness described the armed man as a white male in his 20s. He was about 5 feet, 11 inches tall, with long brown hair, a medium build, and he was wearing blue jeans, a dark hooded sweatshirt and tennis shoes

“I think there is more to this story because this is not something that normally happens in Shelby Township,” Muszynski said. “This is an unusual event.”

Police asked anyone who may have seen or know anything about the incident to call them at 586-731-2121 or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-SPEAK UP.

I am sure there will be more of this going on with all the apartment comlexes the majority of the current Township Board members are voting for in favor of certian developers to construct in Shelby Township.

What?? "not something that normally happens in Shelby Township" well maybe other parts of the twip but that is almost a monthly thing in those apts. Ive lived there and they even robbed the ice cream truck at gun point. Shelpy Twip really goes out f their way to avoid any negative news concerning the twip! I have heard it with my own ears where the Police say lets hurry up and get this taken care of before the news is called! so dont let anybody try and fool you into thinking its safe and never happens here, Not when I seen a man shooting at a tree at 2pm one day because he was bored after I seen him later that night. I did call the police gave them his name but nothing ever came from it
