Police: Man Arrested for Throwing Bottle at Driver's Face

A man was arrested after a road rage incident Monday afternoon.

A 48-year-old man was arrested Monday afternoon after police said he threw a plastic bottle at a man’s face while he was driving on Hall Road.

The name of the man suspected of throwing the bottle is not being released pending charges.

The victim, a 38-year-old Roseville man, told police the assault started with road rage. The driver of a Mini Cooper became enraged at the victim when he crossed traffic to get into the far right lane.

The victim said the driver yelled obscenities at him, and then pulled up alongside him, while the passenger of the Mini Cooper threw a bottle into his vehicle.

The bottle hit the victim in the face, which caused his glasses to cut him under the eye.

When the Utica police called the vehicle’s owner in Flint and got a hold of the passenger, they told him to come to the police department for questioning.

The 48-year-old man told police that the victim first threw the bottle into his vehicle, and he threw it back at him. However, the police said he was arrested since the victim was injured.

The police have asked prosecutors to charge the man with assault.
