Utica Police: Man Smoking K2 at Grant Park Arrested On Charges of Disorderly Conduct

A Macomb Township man was arrested July 2 on charges of disorderly conduct and drug paraphernalia.

A 22-year-old Macomb Township man who was shouting and using vulgar language at Grant Park in Utica on July 2 admitted to smoking K2 before his arrest.

The man was arrested on charges of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct.

Utica police came to Grant Park after a neighbor complained of two men who seemed intoxicated and disorderly.

When police arrived, they said the 22-year-old was trying to conceal a marijuana pipe that had fresh residue on it inside his pocket. The man admitted to police that he had recently smoked K2, according to the police report. 

Utica police said the man became aggressive and refused to give his name. He was handcuffed and taken to the police station where he had to stay for several hours before he sobered up enough to be booked.

Police have not said where the man purchased the from. The sale of K2, also known as Spice, Last month, a series of laws into effect that will ban the substance from all store shelves in the state.
