The Utica police are investigating a breaking and entering at Snookers' Pool and Pub early Monday morning after a person entered the bar around 4 a.m. and tried to pry open an automated teller machine.
Snookers employees told police the bar was closed and the alarm was set at 3:24 a.m. as the manager and all employees exited the building.
The alarm was de-activated at 4:17 a.m. using the manager's code and video surveillance captured a person entering the store at 4:18 a.m. and attempting to break open the ATM using a crow bar.
The person was not able to open the ATM, but left more than $2,500 in damages to the machine.
Police said the video was too dark to determine the person's identity, but police were able to determine the person was wearing bright white tennis shoes.
No latent fingerprints were left at the scene, according to a police report.
Pry marks were found on the front door of the bar as well.
All managers and employees working before the breaking and entering have been interviewed.
The case remains open. Anyone with information is asked to call the Utica Police Department at 586-731-2345.
