Runner Who Collapsed at Stony Creek Remains Hospitalized

A 30-year-old man who collapsed from a heat stroke Sunday during a race at Stony Creek remains hospitalized.

A 30-year-old man running in the at Stony Creek Sunday remains hospitalized after he collapsed near the 12-mile marker.

The man collapsed after suffering a heat stroke, according to his family.

The man remains in critical condition, his family said.

Race organizer Joe Burns said when volunteers saw the man go down, they immediately radioed for help and the Washington Township medics took the man to a nearby hospital.

“I think a lot of the planning that we had done worked out pretty good so we’re very happy that people got to him as quickly as they did,” said Burns.
