The same man who has been spotted in several communities in the past few weeks wearing only a shirt and pantyhose with nothing underneath is believed to have entered two Utica businesses Monday evening, according to Utica police.
Police say the man entered and , both located in a shopping plaza near Hall and Schoenherr roads, around 8:15 p.m. Monday evening.
The man was captured on Plato's Closet surveillance video browsing racks. He was wearing a baseball cap, a white button down shirt and sheer blue pantyhose. The man in described as in his 50s, about 6-feet-tall with a heavy upper body build and skinny legs.
Utica Police Chief Dave Faber said the man did not approach any of the shoppers or initiate contact, other than to ask several clerks for help.
"It just appears he’s trying to draw attention to himself," said Faber.
However, surveillance video from inside Plato's closet captured the man brushing up against a woman. The surveillance video, obtained by Patch, accompanies this report.
"The woman recalls being bumped, but she wasn’t sure if it was the back or front of him, and if it was accidental because she was shopping," said Faber.
Faber said when arrested, the man could face indecent exposure charges for his actions in , where he is said to have entered a salon and asked for a Brazilian wax. He also was said to be seen at businesses in , , Auburn Hills, Canton Township and Utica. He could also be charged with criminal sexual conduct, for his contact with the female shopper in Utica, Faber said.
Police have not been able to identify the flasher, but Faber said he may be driving a white or light in color Jeep Cherokee.
