Accident on 24 Mile and Dequindre Sends 4 to Hospital

The intersection at 24 Mile and Dequindre roads was closed for several hours while police investigated a crash that injured four people Wednesday.

Shelby Township police are investigating a serious crash on 24 Mile and Dequindre roads that sent four elderly people to nearby hospitals.

Police Capt. Stephen Stanbury told Patch the two-vehicle crash occurred just before 11 a.m. Wednesday.

All three people who were in one vehicle were injured, and the driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital.

Stanbury said three people were taken to Beaumont Hospital in Troy and one person was taken to the trauma unit at Mount Clemens Regional Medical Center.

"All four victims were older and taken to the hospital, more or less as a precaution because of age," said Stanbury.
