Shelby Firefighters All Smiles after Shaving For St. Baldrick's Fund Raiser

Several Shelby Township Firefigthers shaved their heads over the weekend to raise money for kids with cancer.

Four Shelby Township Firefighters were among the 517 people who shaved their heads to raise money to help find a cure for childhood cancer.

In total, the Romeo St. Baldrick's event on March 10 raised $211,937. The team, representing the Shelby Township Fire Department, Local 1338 contributed to the total goal by raising $1,005.

"It was just so neat to see people from all over and come together to shave their heads, beards or mustaches," said Shelby Firefighter Steve Dettloff, who was the official/unofficial Shelby Fire photographer for the event.
