Shelby PD Investivate Rash of Car Break-ins
Seven vehicle break-ins and an attempted vehicle theft were reported on Aug. 31 within blocks of each other.
A rash of car break-ins and attempted vehicle thefts were reported last weekend near Dequindre and Auburn roads.
According to Crimedar, a new online police activity tracking system, there were seven vehicle break-ins and one attempted vehicle theft reported on the same day.
The tracking website does not always give a detailed description on the items reported stolen. Also, police would not comment whether the break-ins were related.

All wheels and rims were taken from a gray Crown Victoria. The vehicle was found just before 11 a.m.

Personal property reported stolen from a vehicle just before 10 a.m.

Personal property reported stolen from a vehicle around 9 a.m.

A GPS was reported stolen from a vehicle at 9:45 a.m.

Woman noticed her Jeep Cherokee doors were open just after 9 a.m., but nothing was stolen.

A man reported that he heard his girlfriend's vehicle start just before 7 a.m. and then he heard someone get out of the vehicle run away.
