Shelby Township Crime Briefs: Bike Stolen; Wallet and ID Stolen From Vehicle

Bike Stolen From Front Lawn

A boy's bike was stolen Monday afternoon from the front lawn.

The victim told police he parked his bike in front of a house on Jeffry Street, and then went inside for a while. When the boy returned at 5:30 p.m., he noticed the bike was gone.

The bike's estimated value was about $1,000. The case is closed because of a lack of suspects.

Sometime between Friday night and Saturday morning, a woman's checkbook and license were stolen from her parked vehicle.

A 44-year-old woman told police that on Friday night, she parked her 2011 Toyota Camry in the driveway of a home near 24 Mile and Mound roads. When she got into the car Saturday afternoon, she realized things inside her vehicle had been moved around, but she figured it was her teenage girls who had been rummaging through her belongings.

A few hours later, she noticed her license and checkbook were missing. There are no suspects in the case at this time.

Windshield Smashed in Parking Lot

The windshield of a Dodge Neon parked at a home on West Utica and Dequindre roads was smashed in with an unknown object Saturday afternoon.

There are no suspects in the case.

Business Broken Into

The front and back windows of a business on 23 Mile Road were smashed-in sometime overnight last Friday.

Police said when the business owners arrived Saturday morning, the front door was also open, but nothing appeared to be taken.
