Shelby Twp. Man Charged in Connection With Fake Bomb Threat

A Shelby Township man was charged with reporting a false bomb threat at a Mount Clemens paint plant.

A 43-year-old Shelby Township man was arraigned Friday on a felony charge of reporting a false bomb threat.

A 41-B District Court judge set a $10,000 cash or surety bond Friday at Timothy Paul Milazzo’s arraignment. Milazzo faces a $2,000 fine for the cost of  the government's time and resources and up to four years in prison.

The Macomb County Sheriff’s Department said Milazzo called the DuPont Paint Plant on Groesbeck Highway in Mount Clemens early on June 2 and told the security guard there were two bombs set to go off.

“If you care about your employees, get them out,” Milazzo reportedly told the security guard, according to the sheriff’s department.

The DuPont plant was evacuated while bomb squads and police dogs searched the plant for bombs. No suspicious devices were found. However, normal business operations for the day were interrupted.
