Update: Accident Cleared on Southbound M-53

Update: The accident on southbound M-53 has been cleared. WWJ-TV is reporting southbound M-53 is closed at 26 Mile due to an accident.

Rush hour traffic on southbound M-53 is being diverted off the expressway at 26 Mile due to an accident.

WWJ-Radio is reporting there was an accident at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday between 24 and 23 Mile, which led to closure. Traffic can enter southbound M-53 at 23 Mile, according to Shelby Township dispatch.

Northbound traffic is slow from M-59 to 23 Mile according to map on WWJ.com.
