Utica PD: Woman Returns Stolen Purse After Admitting to Theft

A 39-year-old Shelby Township woman accused of stealing a Coach Purse from Plato's Closet in Utica faces third-degree retail theft charges.
According to the police report, the woman, whose name is not being released pending formal arraignment, stole the Coach purse and $50 worth of jewelery from the store on Nov. 15.
Upon reviewing surveillance video of the theft, police identified the woman and called her at home. The police report states the woman admitted to the theft and returned the purse to the police station.
