Utica Police: Larceny Victim Arrested for Possession of Marijuana
The following arrest information was supplied by the Utica Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.
A 25-year-old man whose jacket was stolen at Snooker’s Pool and Pub last Monday was arrested for possession of marijuana.
The Utica police were called to Snooker’s at 8:30 p.m. on a larceny complaint. The victim told police his jacket was stolen from the pool hall, and his car keys were inside.
Police called a tow company to unlock the man’s car, but when he the doors, officers said they smelled a strong odor of marijuana, according to a police report.

When officers asked the man if he had marijuana in the vehicle, he admitted that he had just picked up nearly 2 ounces of marijuana in Sterling Heights before arriving at Snooker’s.
The marijuana, which had a street value of $750, was confiscated and the man was arrested.

While securing the evidence, the man received a text message from “Dad” that said, “Don’t tell them that u had to deliver the stuff say you had a little bit of it and the person who stole your keys must of (put) it in there.”
The man was held on a $100 bond.
