While officers searched the teenage girl's purse, but did not find the phone, they noted she appeared to be intoxicated and administered a breathalyzer, according to a police report. She blew a .059 and was placed in the backseat of the officer's vehicle.

The officer asked the girl to reveal where the cell phone was before he was going to arrest her for a minor in possession of alcohol. According to the police report, the girl reached down "the front of her shorts and pulled the iPhone from her crotch area." Officers returned the phone to the victim.
