Many years ago when I was in high school Gene Shepherd was a friend of mine through Redeemer Baptist Church in Warren, Michigan. As the years went by we lost that connection and I have not had any contact with him. He was a great guy back when we were both young and someone you could count on. I believe as he matured he maintained those characteristics as demonstrated in his family and community service. Clearly he will be missed. I pray for Leann and his family as they deal with this loss, I remember Gene as a great guy and the many miles we rode our touring bicycles together “back in the day.” I know he is in heaven and that gives us all comfort, he will be missed, he made a great impression on his loved ones and the community. May God bless his family.
