Woman Charged with Intent to Sell Heroin at Utica Hotel

The following arrest information was supplied by the Utica Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 36-year-old Pontiac woman was arraigned in 41A District Court Wednesday in connection with drug charges after police said she was arrested in Utica for trying to sell heroin.

Rebecca Ann Trevino was arraigned on charges of possession with intent to deliver heroin under 50 grams and driving while on a suspended license.

She was transported back to Macomb County Jail after bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety only.

The Utica police arrested Trevino on May 27 outside of the Laquinta Hotel, which is near Hall Road and M-59.

A Utica police officer said he noticed Trevino inside of a parked Ford Explorer in the rear of the hotel. The officer said in his report that he decided to run the license plate of Trevino’s Ford Explorer because the area is known for high crime including theft and narcotic activities.

The vehicle was registered out of Pontiac, and when the officer asked Trevino why she was there, she said she was picking up a friend named Tamara.

A few moments later, a woman walked out of the hotel, saw Trevino and the officer and ran back into the hotel.

The officer was able to stop the woman and questioned them both. Trevino first denied possessing illegal drugs, but then she admitted to having 2 grams of heroin in her pocket.

Trevino told the officer she was at the hotel to sell $200 worth of heroin to the woman.

Trevino, who is on probation for possession of heroin, asked the officer for some consideration because she said she had helped out the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) with a big case in the past.

The officer said she would be arrested and charged regardless of her cooperation with the DEA.
