2013 Shelby Township Property Tax Millage Rates to Remain Unchanged

For the seventh consecutive year, the Shelby Township property tax millage rates will not increase.

Shelby Township residents will not see an increase in township tax millage rates next year.

After a public hearing, the Shelby Township Board of Trustees Tuesday voted to approve 2013 property tax millage rates.

This is the seventh consecutive year that Shelby Township has approved a rate of 9.2999 mills. In 2005, the rate was reduced from 9.3199 to 9.2999 where it has remained.

The rates were prepared by new Acting Deputy Assessor Tom Monchak.

"This is a result of hard work on behalf of the board," said Shelby Township Supervisor Rick Stathakis, who promised that the current Board of Trustees would not raise taxes.
