Bloomberg Ranks Michigan 2nd Fastest Growing State: Lund Cautiously Optimistic

Shelby Township's Pete Lund releases statement on Bloomberg's first ever Economic Evaluation of States.

Michigan ranked No. 2 in the first-ever Bloomberg Economic Evaluation of States.

Michigan House Majority Whip Pete Lund, R-Shelby Township released a statement saying he was cautiously optimistic about the news.

"I take the news of Michigan's economy recovering at the second fastest rate in the nation with both pride and caution.  While it's been said there are 'no points for second place,' we must acknowledge our work to put some points on the board.  But, this is still only the first lap of our race to recovery - we might be on the tail of the leader, but there are now 48 other competitors in our rearview.  Michigan cannot settle for second place and we surely can't allow our new position to slip back into the middle of the pack.

"Our mission to re-open Michigan for business has been noticed today, but no rewards will be given until the great people of our state are back to work.  Now, with a clear view of the leader, we must maintain our current position and do more to build upon the progress we've made so Michigan can take the lead and complete the entire race to recovery."

North Dakota came in first place and California third.
