Shelby Township to Hold Electronics Recycling

Recycle outdated televisions, fax machines and cables Saturday in Shelby Township.

Shelby Township will be holding a free electronics recycling program from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday near the south entrance to the municipal grounds at 52700 Van Dyke.

Vintage Tech Recyclers, Inc., will be conducting the recycling event and will accept the following items, according to the township:

  • Televisions, monitors, computers, laptops, printers, fax machines, all-in-one printers, VCRs, keyboards and mice, DVD and CD players, microwaves, stereos, speakers, miscellaneous cables, computer parts, telephones, cell phones, game consoles, handheld electronic devices (iPods, Game Boys, etc.), holiday lights

The township stated the following items will not be accepted:

  • Typewriters, terminals, large copy machines, electronic tools, cash registers, all small and large household appliances such as toaster ovens, hair dryers, refrigerators, and dish washers.
