Thursday Political Forum Features Federal, State, County Candidates

Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Vote - Michigan is sponsoring the event.

Interested voters can meet and question candidates running for a number of positions at a Thursday political forum sponsored by Asian and Pacific Islander American (APIA) Vote - Michigan.

APIA Vote - Michigan is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization that promotes and provides civic participation, advocacy and education in the Asian Pacific Islander American community.

The forum is at the Sterling Heights Lion’s Club, 12828 Canal Road, and starts with a candidate meet and greet at 6 p.m., followed by the forum itself from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Invited candidates include those running for the U.S. Senate, the 9th and 10th U.S. Congressional districts, the 25th and 30th Michigan House districts, State Board of Education, as well as those running for the Macomb County Prosecutor, Sheriff, Clerk, Treasurer and Commission. 

Attendees also can learn about the statewide ballot proposals.
