10 Seniors Join Ike Hockey Brotherhood

Eisenhower varsity hockey graduates ten seniors after winning MAC Red.

As another chapter of Eisenhower hockey ends, Coach Robert Hall reflects on his seniors’ hard work this season and the brotherhood that they now join.

“I felt our seniors did a very good job this year,” said Hall. “Most of them came in without a lot of varsity experience and as the season progressed, so did they in terms of their experience. They really stepped up when they needed to and helped us bring home a Macomb Area Conference Red championship.”

Three of the four captains this year were seniors Everet Bommarito, Mike Casali and Pat Hayford.

“All three of these captains are good guys,” said Hall. “They are well-rounded individuals and always speak highly of their teammates.”

“We had a great season,” said Bommarito. “The seniors all came together this year and became great friends. We didn’t know each other very well at the beginning, but as the season went on our bonds became closer. We became more of a family of brothers. We had support for each other and had each others’ backs. I couldn’t be any happier with my team and with my group of seniors because of the work they put into this season. We all played hard.”

In addition to Bommarito, Casali and Hayford, the team graduates seniors Jake VanSlembrouck, Dan Havrilla, Anthony Giannetti, Ben Blaska, Connor Leskiw, Chris Antonucci and Anthony Rots.

“We will miss all of our players, but we know that we aren’t just a team, it’s a brotherhood,” said Hall. “The kids always come back to be a part of the program after they graduate. We speak highly of our alumni and we enjoying seeing them when they come back. It’s a good feeling.”

“No doubt I’ll be back in the stands to watch these guys after I graduate,” smiled Bommarito.
