4 UCS Students Selected to Study in Asia This Summer

Four Utica Academy for International Studies students will take the trip of a lifetime to Asia.

Four Utica Academy for International Studies are among a select group of U.S. high school students to earn an all-expenses paid trip to study in Asia this summer.

Roma Cusumano , Lauren Morawski, Isabel Kinney and Taylor Patrash  have been selected to participate in six-week summer study program sponsored by the National Security Language Initiative for Youth Scholarships to Study Abroad.

Cusumano, Morawski and Patrash will take part in an intensive and immersive program to  study the language and culture in China. Kinney will study in South Korea.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, the program allows students to participate in intensive language classes, homestays and volunteer projects that allow for opportunities for meaningful language practice with native speakers. The students will also travel to orientations in Washington, D.C., and New York City prior to the trip.
