Cheyenne Elementary Students Raise Funds for Macomb Humane Society

Second grade students at Cheyenne Elementary School in Macomb raised $300 for the Macomb Humane Society in Shelby Township.

Second grade students at Cheyenne Elementary School have raised $300 for Macomb Humane Society in Shelby Township through the "Coins for Critters" program.

Throughout the school year students have collected spare change in a jar in Nikki Simons' classroom.

The money raised by students came from extra lunch money, allowance and extra chores completed by the students to earn the coins, according to an email from Simons. At the end of the month, the coins are counted and the total was graphed.
