Ike's Coltman Gunning for the 30s

Eisenhower senior Sarah Coltman is golfing strong for the Eagles in her fourth varsity season.

Sarah Coltman, Eisenhower four-year varsity golfer, is a tri-captain this year for the Eagles and leads the team with her great rounds and skills.

"Sarah has had an exceptionally wonderful season this year," Eisenhower girls golf coach Jerry Griesbeck said. "She shot a couple different rounds at 40 and all of her rounds have been sub-50. She displays an awful lot of leadership and direction and the team is very much following her lead."

"My number this year have been pretty good," said Coltman. "My goal is to shoot in the 30s and hopefully I can do it for my team. My putting has been very good lately. We always have a lot of fun out here. It's a serious game but we make it fun while being competitive at the same time."

"Being a coach, it's very refreshing how open the girls are, how they act and react on the course," said Griesbeck. "It's very refreshing to see how they accept criticism, critique and direction.  Pretty much what you see in their eyes is the desire to succeed and do well. I've seen that for the last four years in Sarah. Her course management skills are very good; she takes what the course gives her. It's fun to see her play now as a senior and to note the tremendous improvement she's made since she was a ninth-grader."
