UCS holds 5th annual Academic Blitz Today

Utica Community Schools advises elementary, middle and senior high students about future education programs on how to excel in their personal curriculum at the Academic Blitz today.

"Get your head in the game" today for the 5th Annual Academic Blitz located at Henry Ford II High School, 11911 Clinton River Road in Sterling Heights.

While the Blitz is specifically targeted to parents of students in grades 6 through 10, the event is open to all parents interested in specific options available that ensure students are able to take full advantage of programs and services available to them in UCS and after graduation.

The evening will begin with an opening session featuring Dr. Bess German, Director of Admissions and Student Affairs at Michigan State University. Following the presentation, parents will be able to choose from nearly 10 breakout sessions. Sessions include informational programs such as financial aid, advanced placement offerings, special programs available to high school students, college opportunities for special education students and junior high school options in mathematics.

Informational booths will also be available during the night for parents interested in meeting with counselors, local college officials, academic summer school options, specialized high school programs in UCS, and college savings plans.

For more information, including a planned-agenda for the evening as well as an informational video, please visit the UCS Reaching Higher website here.
