Utica Community Schools Students Get 'Revved Up' for Automotive Careers

Utica Community Schools hosted representatives from the big three, and their vehicles, at the "Where Innovation Meets Design" automotive showcase at the Utica Center for Science and Industry.

Junior and high school students from Utica Community Schools got up close and personal, and under the hood, of Chrysler, Ford and General Motors vehicles Tuesday at the "Where Innovation Meets Design" automotive showcase at the Utica Center for Science and Industry.

Engineers and designers from the big three brought more than 30 production, concept and historic vehicles to the showcase. The representatives of the automotive industry, which included Utica Community Schools graduates, interacted with the students to discuss the design and manufacturing of the cars.

Students also had the chance to work on computers used in the design process at workshops set up in the school.
