VIDEO: Drummunity Raises Switzer Students' Heartbeat

Switzer students get a chance to bang out some tension with Drummunity Day.

students got their heartbeats racing during the Drum4Health day Thursday.

Switzer music teacher Nancy Cannava secured a grant through the Utica Education Staywell foundation to bring in Lori Fithian, founder of Drummunity, for the day.

All students got a chance to visit Fithian in the auditrium to learn how to make sweet, collective music.

Fithian said the goal of the giant jam session is to teach students about how music can create a community and foster acceptance, while promoting health.
