De LaSalle Brings Ike's Soccer Season to an End

The Pilots edge out the Eagles in a close regional semifinal match.

Eisenhower's soccer season ended with a 2-1 loss to De La Salle on Wednesday.

Twelve minutes into the first half of the MHSAA Regional 3 semifinal soccer game, freshman Travis Harrington scored to give Ike a 1-0 lead. With less than nine minutes left in the half, De La Salle’s Noah Hicks netted the tying goal. The score remained 1-1 into the halftime break, through the cool and wet weather.

About halfway through the second half, De La Salle placed a deflected shot high into the corner of the the winning goal in the Pilots' 2-1 victory over over Eisenhower.

The game was preceded by a 1-0 overtime victory for Troy Athens over Livonia Stevenson. Athens and De La Salle will meet Saturday, Oct. 29, in the regional final.
