Detroit Red Wings Announce 2013 Schedule

Hockey season is finally here, but Patch readers are split on whether or not they'll be going to a game this season.

With the NHL lockout officially over, the Detroit Red Wings have announced their 2013 schedule. The Wings will play 48 games in 99 days as Detroit looks to extend its 21-season playoff streak, the longest current streak in professional sports.

Tickets to all 24 of the Red Wings’ 2013 home games are set to go on sale this coming Thursday, Jan. 17, beginning at 1 p.m.

Patch readers were split on whether or not they'll support the Wings season after the lockout, which lasted for nearly four months amidst union disputes.

The Red Wings are acknowledging the lack of support fans might feel, too.

That's why they've announced the "Thanks for sticking with us" initiative—a 35-hour no-fee promise for ticket-buyers. The club and Ticketmaster will have no fees for any regular season ticket purchased from 1 p.m. on Thursday through midnight Friday at Detroitredwings.com, Ticketmaster.com, the Joe Louis Arena Box Office, or by calling 313-396-7575.

Full season ticket packages as well as Six and 12 Game Plans are on sale now.  For more information, contact the Red Wings Ticket Sales & Service Office at 313-396-7575, or visit DetroitRedWings.com.

The first puck drops for the Wings on Jan. 19 in St. Louis, MO. Their first home game will be held Jan. 22 against Dallas at the Joe Louis Arena.
