Exotic Animal Day at Shadbush

Discover a variety of “exotic” animals that many people keep for pets. All of the animals at the Nature Center for this program will be there for one day only.

Two live animal programs are planned: gentle animals for younger children will be showen at 12:30 p.m. such as spiders and other invertebrate pets, and at 2:30 p.m. snakes and turtles will come out.  You will meet a variety of exotic pets and get information about which ones are good choices, which ones are difficult and not recommended as pets and how to care for them.

The center will also share tips on how to avoid getting pets children will soon tire of, and ethical ways of dealing with pets you no longer want.
