Ike Senior Chosen to Play in 2013 All-Star Football Game

The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association has selected Eisenhower High School student David Curle as one of 44 players on this year's East Team.

Eisenhower High School senior David Curle has been named one of 88 high school football players to participate in the 33nd annual East-West All Star Game.

An offensive and defensive lineman for Ike, Curle will play the latter position on the East Team. 

Hosted by the Michigan High School Football Coaches Association, the game brings together what are considered to be some of the best players in the state, as selected by a state-wide group of MHSFCA member coaches. Players were announced Jan. 12.

This year's game is scheduled to take place Saturday, June 22, at Arend D. Lubbers Stadium on the campus of Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. The start time of the game will be announced by MHSFCA in the spring.

"The Michigan High School Football Coaches Association is extremely pleased to announce the 88 players that will represent the East and the West teams in the 33rd MHSFCA All Star Game," said Jim Sparks, MHSFCA All Star Game Committee chair, in a prepared statement. "We expect the week-long 'Game Week' camp experience for the players at Grand Valley State University will provide lifelong memories and enduring friendships for the players and that the game on June 22 will be an exciting celebration of high school football for the players, the coaches, the players’ families and friends and fans throughout Michigan."

Tickets are $5 in advance and will be available at www.mhsfca.com starting May 13. All tickets purchased at the gate on game day will be $10.

Other local players to make the 2013 All Star East roster include Dakota High School's Christian Gore, Chippewa Valley's Jerry Taylor, Lutheran North's J.J. McGrath and L'Anse Creuse's Lucas Lanzon.
