Dozens of children, ages 3-12 years old, braved the sweltering heat Saturday to take part in the at .

Competitors challenged themselves in a variety of events including the 40-yard dash, hurdles, disc toss, free throws, broad jump, long jump and baseball toss, among others.

Ribbons and certificates were awarded to the top two finishers in each event, based on age groups, and participation ribbons were given to everyone who competed.
