Shelby Township Motorcross Racer to Make Pro Debut

Shelby Township resident Jarett Pesci will make his motorcross pro debut Saturday at a race in Michigan.

Jarett Pesci will make his pro debut Saturday at the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championships and the Red Bull Red Bud National in Buchanan, MI, according to the Motonews website.

Pesci will compete in the 250 class and will aboard a Magic Racing/Championship Powersports KTM250SX-F running number 904, the site stated.

According to the website, he was the 2011 AMA District 14 rider of the year and has won 23 local and regional championships in his career. But the Shelby Township native was out most of the 2012 season with a torn ACL that required surgery.

While he is making his pro debut this weekend, he is not a stranger to races. Pesci has been racing since he was five years old and qualified for Loretta Lynns Amateur National Championships nine years in a row, according to the story.
