The Rochester Grangers Vintage Base Ball Club will host a four-club vintage base ball tournament on Saturday at Stony Creek Metropark's Baypoint Beach.

The Grangers will host clubs from Port Huron, Flint, and Fallasburg and will play matches according to the rules of 1864.  Matches will be played at 10 a.m., 1p.m. and 3 p.m.

While baseball was being organized as early as 1856, vintage "base ball" interprets the game as it swept across the country and was played by gentlemen strictly for exercise and camaraderie.

No gloves are allowed and formal dress uniforms are worn by all players.  There is a charge to enter Stony Creek Park—$5 for a daily pass, or an annual Huron-Clinton Metropark pass. The park is at 4300 Main Park Road in Shelby Township.
