Patch catches up with the Utica junior varsity/freshman cheer team as they practice for their first football game.

The team, made up of 16 girls, has been practicing for four months to prepare for the first game of the season Wednesday evening.

Coach Giovanna Genovese said she is excited for the season because she has a really strong and positive team.
